China's environment supremos order review of steel restructuring
China’s Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) has ordered local governments to complete a self-audit of work on air pollution control and report back before 10 January. According to MEP requirements the report must also include progress on steel industry restructuring, adding another layer of control over environment-related steel production restrictions and capacity controls, Kallanish notes.
