Nucor breaks ground on West Virginia sheet mill
Nucor has held the groundbreaking ceremony for its prospective sheet mill at Apple Grove, West Virginia, supplied by SMS, the German technology company tells Kallanish.
The equipment consists of two 210-short ton DC electric arc furnaces, two twin ladle metallurgy furnaces, two vacuum tank degassers with oxygen blowing and seven transfer cars. The first heat at the EAF is currently planned for the first quarter of 2026.
