Nucor to build melt shop at bar mill
US steel producer Nucor will build a new melt shop at one of its existing bar mills located in the western US, Kallanish understands.
In a statement, Nucor announced the approval by the company's board of directors for construction of a new $100 million melt shop. The melt shop is expected to come online in 2024 and will have an annual production capacity of 600,000 short tons.
