Pacific Steel Group plans California rebar micromill
San Diego, California-based Pacific Steel Group has announced plans to build a new $350 million rebar micromill in Mojave, California.
Danieli has been awarded the contract to provide the equipment and technology for the new mill, which will have an annual steelmaking capacity of 380,000 short tons.
The MIDA hybrid micromill will be able to use the abundant renewable energy sources available in California, allowing for lower CO2 emissions, Kallanish understands.
