Posco builds ‘giga steel’ processing plant in China
Posco Group has established a processing plant in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province, China for processing ultra-high-strength steel – “giga steel" – used for automotive.
The company is on track to double sales of "giga steel" by 2027. Through cooperation with large auto parts manufacturers in East China, this product’s share in Posco Group sales will increase from the current 6% to 12% in 2027, the Korean steelmaker says.
