Russian stainless steel consumption increases amid higher imports
Russia’s real consumption of stainless steel increased in January-September, according to national special steel association USSA.
It amounted to 491,900 tonnes, up by 24.1% on-year, Kallanish notes.
Consumption of cold rolled flat steel increased by 27.4%, hot rolled flat steel was up 7.2% long products by 28.5%, seamless pipe by 87.8% and wire by 94.6%.
However, consumption of welded pipe fell 2.6%.
