Severstal repairs boost steel output, semis sales down
Russian major steel producer Severstal increased hot metal production by 7% quarter-on-quarter to 2.92 million tonnes in the second quarter and by 6% year-on-year to 5.64mt in the first half. This follows the completion of scheduled repairs at blast furnaces and consequent increase in the utilisation rate, the company says.
Crude steel production increased by 9% q-o-q to 2.95mt and by 6% y-o-y to 5.65mt.
