Russian stainless steel consumption increases
Russia’s real consumption of stainless steel increased in first half of the year, according to national special steel association USSA.
It amounted to 322,600 tonnes, up by 14.4% on-year, Kallanish notes.
Consumption of cold rolled flat steel in H1 increased by 11.4%, long products by 40%, seamless pipe by 48.9% and wire by 147.6%.
However, consumption of stainless hot rolled flat steel decreased by 2.1% and welded pipe by 9.2%.
