SAIL eyes trial production of special rails: reports
Steel Authority of India (SAIL) plans to begin trial production of head-hardened (HH) rails by the end of October, SAIL chairman Amarendu Prakash told the Press Trust of India.
The HH rails are used in metro rail and freight corridor projects. This is manufactured by using head hardening technology to bear about 50% higher pressure than normal rails, Kallanish notes.
