Sangang Minguang begins blast furnaces construction
Fujian province-based Sangang Minguang has begun construction of new blast furnaces at its headquarters in Sanming this week, Kallanish notes.
By demolishing three 420m3 BFs and two 1,050m3 BFs at its Sanming headquarters, the company plans to commission two 1,950m3 BFs in December 2023 and June 2025 respectively (see Kallanish passim).
The equipment upgrade plan will result in a net capacity reduction of 347,000 tonnes/year of iron.
