US scrap prices seek firm footing
An uncertain global market continues to have US experts divided as to when scrap prices will hit bottom, Kallanish reports.
Following an increase March, scrap prices have fallen for four months running. Erosion in new steel prices has put downward pressure on scrap through the summer months. Some Midwest dealers are reporting a $10/short ton drop, depending on the region and the grade.
