Second Covid-19 wave mars Tata Steel June-quarter recovery
Tata Steel India saw sales surge 41% on-year in the first fiscal quarter through June (FQ1) from a low, Covid-19-hit base. However, they fell 11% on-quarter to 4.15 million tonnes as a result of the second pandemic wave impact, Kallanish notes.
Production surged 55% on-year but fell 3% on-quarter to 4.62mt.
Automotive & Special Products segment deliveries soared seven-fold on-year compared to the trebling in automotive OEM production in the quarter, Tata says…
