Shangang restarts No.1 blast furnace
China’s Shandong Iron & Steel (Shangang) resumed production at its No.1 1,880 cubic metre-blast furnace last week, after a suspension of 131 days for maintenance, Kallanish learns.
The BF in the company’s Laiwu Plant has around 1.6 million tonnes/year of hot metal cpacity according to government requirements. Reduced production volume during the period is estimated to be about 570,000 tonnes.
