Shangang, Baowu to cooperate on Rizhao Base
China’s Shandong Iron & Steel Group (Shangang Group) is planning to cooperate with Baowu Group to construct the second phase of its Rizhao Base, according to chairman Hou Jun.
Total investment is expected to reach CNY 75 billion ($10.77 billion), supporting construction in two stages. Phase II has a design capacity of 11.5 million tonnes/year of crude steel, Kallanish notes.
