Sims appoints new chairman
Global metals recycler Sims Limited has appointed Philip Bainbridge its new chairman after Geoff Brunsdon retired, effective 25 March.
The Australia-headquartered firm’s earnings in the first half through December of its 2024 fiscal year (FY24) were dragged by lower metal trading margins and inflationary pressure, with Ebit down 85.6% on-year to AUD 13.4 million ($8.8m). Revenue, however, rose 7.4% to AUD 4.11 billion (see Kallanish passim).
