SSAB extends temporary Finland layoffs on deteriorating market

SSAB has extended temporary layoffs at its Finnish operations on account of the Covid-19 pandemic to run through September, as steel market conditions continue to deteriorate. The lay-offs will apply to all personnel employed in Finnish operations excluding the subsidiaries Tibnor and Ruukki Construction. The exact timing of the layoffs will depend on the workload situation at production lines but from June onwards may exceed the average of three weeks…
