Steelworkers object to Glencore's Elk Valley Resources takeover
Four United Steelworkers (USW) union locals in Canada have objected to the Swiss mining company Glencore's imminent takeover of Teck Resources' steelmaking coal operation, Elk Valley Resources.
Glencore this week announced an agreement with Teck to acquire 77% interest in Elk Valley Resources for $6.93 billion (see Kallanish 15 November).
