Tata finds alternative input suppliers amid virus outbreak
Tata Steel is moving away from China to alternative sources of input materials, such as manganese, refractory products and graphite electrodes, in order to reduce risk of disruption stemming from the Covid-19 outbreak.
The strategy to reduce dependence on China started with the US-China trade dispute and has now accelerated following the virus outbreak. Brazil and Turkey have so far been tapped for alternative suppliers.
