Tisco commissions heavy plate mill
Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel (Tisco), part of China’s Baowu Group, has commissioned its new heavy plate mill, Kallanish learns from equipment supplier SMS Group. The supplier says it is the most powerful mill of its kind it has supplied.
The 4.3m heavy plate hot rolling mill was ordered in 2021 and has a capacity of 700,000 tonnes/year. Rolling dimensions can be 1,550-4,200mm with thicknesses of 5-120mm. It can achieve a rolling force of 109 MN.
