Toyota’s auto production hits record high for May
Toyota last week announced that it had recorded a production high for May, thanks to a recovery from the impact of semiconductor shortages, according to the company’s monthly operation report.
In the reporting month, Toyota’s standalone output grew 7.5% on-month and 33.4% year-on-year to 847,000 cars worldwide, the highest ever for the month of May. The May figure posted a year-on-year increase for the fifth month in a row, Kallanish notes.
