Turkey's scrap imports continue y-o-y growth in February
Turkish scrap imports, which have recovered since October 2023, continued their growth in February. They increased by 32.5% year-on-year in February to 1.632 million tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. They were, however, down from 1.664mt in December and 1.861mt in January.
Over 99%, or 1.627mt, of the February imports were obsolete scrap. The average price of this scrap was $445/tonne, up from $398/t in February…
