Turkey's scrap imports rise slightly in October
Turkish scrap imports rose slightly in October, by 3% on-year to 1.499 million tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. They were also up from 1.071mt in September.
Over 99%, or 1.485mt, of the October imports were obsolete scrap. The average price of this scrap was $379/tonne, down from $389/t in October 2022 and up from $371.5/t in September 2023.
