Turkish June scrap imports fall, Russia-origin billet surges

Turkish scrap imports fell -29% on-year in June to 1.29 million tonnes, bringing to an end two consecutive months of increases, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. Their average value was $313/tonne versus $356/t in June 2018. Over 99%, or 1.28mt, of the June imports were obsolete scrap.
