UAW to open negotiations with Ford
The United Auto Workers labour union will now shift gears and begin negotiations with Ford, having ratified a contract with General Motors and ended the month-long work stoppage, Kallanish learns.
The General Motors agreement will be a “pattern” for negotiations with Ford and then Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles, the union says. The union won several pay increases as a result of the negotiations and associated work stoppage.
