US construction spending gains driven by residential sector
The 1.4% increase in US construction spending from July to August was primarily driven by strong gains in residential construction according to an analysis of government data by the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America, Kallanish reports.
According to the report, the gains experienced in the residential sector has outweighed the losses experienced during the month in most private, and many public, non-residential construction spending segments.
