US mills consider small rebar hike

US rebar producers may soon try to increase base prices, but early discussions do not appear to be promising, market sources tell Kallanish.
Kallanish currently puts #4 product in 20-foot sticks at $570-590/short ton – a level it has occupied for several weeks.
Several mills have approached their customers about possible increases in January, but the alleged starting point is just $10/st, says one buyer.
