US rigs rise by 8, Canada up 4
Both the US and Canadian rig counts posted minor increases in the week ended 7 May, Kallanish learns from energy service company Baker Hughes.
The US rig count increased by eight net rigs to 448, up 74 from the equivalent week last year.
Rigs geared for oil production increased by two and rigs geared for natural gas production increased by seven. The US lost one net rig classified as miscellaneous.
