US scrap continues decline
Domestic scrap prices sustained a three-month decline through June and sources expect more of the same in July and August.
US scrap slid from a high of $300/short ton in April to an average of $270/st in June across most parts of the country. No. 1 heavy melting steel (HMS) has reached a three-month low of around $248/st in the Northeast and Midwest, Kallanish reports.
