US sheet prices end year on the decline
Fewer orders during the end-of-year holiday slowdown are pushing spot prices for hot rolled coil lower in the US market.
HRC prices in the US began a dramatic rise from $500/short ton mid-2020 to $965/st at the start of 2021. They continued climbing throughout the year, hitting an all-time high of just under $2,000/st in September before finally beginning to fall back throughout November and December.
