Usiminas to mothball plate mill in Sao Paulo state
Usiminas is expected to halt its plate mill in Cubatão, Sao Paulo, in response to a progressive fall in demand for the product, Kallanish learns from the Brazilian steel institute Instituto Aço Brazil (IAB).
The aim of the progressive shutdown, pegged to take place in the upcoming days, is to adapt the company output to the current local level of demand, IAB says.
