Vale launches technology to reduce ship fuel use
Vale says it has installed in one of its 325,000-tonne capacity Guibamax ships a new technology to further reduce the use of fuel and therefore limit CO2 emissions and costs.
The new technology, known as air lubrication, consists of air bubbles produced artificially under the ship's hull, which have the effect of reducing the friction with water, Kallanish notes.
