Vale Oman pellet output continues to fluctuate
Vale’s Oman-based iron ore pelletising plant saw production rise 16% on-year in the first quarter to 1.06 million tonnes, but this was down 39% on-quarter.
Oman production accounted for 16.9% of Vale’s consolidated pellet output in Q1 versus 13.2% a year earlier and 24.6% in the previous quarter, Kallanish notes. Vale has not provided an explanation for the significant differences in output.
