Vietnam’s February steel trade falls, scrap imports surge
Vietnam’s cross-border steel trade in February slipped from the prior month, but scrap imports surged. On a year-on-year basis, all products posted a significant increase, according to the General Department of Customs.
In February, Vietnam exported 995,747 tonnes of steel, down 14.2% month-on-month and 25% y-o-y. For the two-month period, exports soared 50.9% from a year earlier to 2.15 million t, Kallanish notes.
