Weak demand pushes US scrap volume, prices down
Scrap exports to Turkey show a downhill slide as prices continue to fall, Kallanish reports. One East Coast says weak demand continues to apply downward pressure.
“Looking at prime origin bulk prices to Turkey, we started April at $320/tonne for HMS 80/20 and today are barely hanging on to $305/t for same origin/grade. It is likely the next set of deals will be closer to $300/t,” he says.
