Alaska provides $44.8m for Ambler Access Project pre-development work
An Alaskan state agency is providing $44.8 million to fund 2023 pre-development work on the Ambler Access Project, a planned highway in northwest Alaska, Kallanish reports.
The money is being provided by the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority. The work will include field studies, permitting and data collection tied to the stalled 211-mile mining highway. Due to permitting delays, the 2022 field work was limited to one month.
