Equinor approves its first battery storage project
Norwegian energy major Equinor said Monday it has greenlighted investment in its first commercial battery storage project, Kallanish reports.
The undisclosed final investment decision enables the Blandford Road battery storage project to start construction in January 2023. The asset, located in Dorset, southern UK, will have the capacity to store 25 megawatts or 50 megawatt-hours of renewable power.
