IGO’s nickel production drops in September quarter
Australian miner IGO has reported lower nickel production in the September quarter, dragged down by its Nova and Forrestania mines in Western Australia, Kallanish notes.
Total nickel production fell 25% quarter-on-quarter to 7,131 tonnes. Acting chief executive officer Matt Dusci attributed the performance to difficult operating conditions at both operations, which impacted production rates and led to higher cash costs.
