LITHIUM: Albemarle, 6K seek advanced materials breakthrough with partnership
Lithium producer Albemarle is targeting a potential disruption in lithium battery materials and its manufacturing processes through a collaboration with US-based 6K Inc, Kallanish reports.
The companies announced last week an agreement to jointly explore the use of 6K’s patented UniMelt platform to develop new lithium battery materials. The microwave-controlled plasma technology could make the manufacturing of these materials more sustainable.
