NICKEL: Vale resumes Totten Mine operations
Brazilian miner Vale says it resumed operations and ramped up production at its Totten Mine in Canada on 22 February. Production at the site was halted last September after a scoop bucket became lodged in the main shaft, resulting in 39 workers trapped underground. No injuries were reported and the miners were safely returned to the surface via secondary egress.
