Pilbara proves strong lithium market with new all-time high auction sale
Pilbara Minerals reported on Wednesday an all-time high price for its spodumene concentrate on the spot market, reflecting market tightness despite recent bearish views on the lithium market earlier this week.
The Australian miner said its 11th spot auction achieved the price of $7,805/dry metric tonne for a 5,000-dmt spodumene cargo at a target grade of 5.5% lithia, fob Port Hedland. The accepted bid is the equivalent to a price of around $8,575/dmt SC6.0, …
