Seaborne iron ore supply to grow 50mt in 2017

This year global seaborne iron ore supply will see an increase of around 50 million tonnes, according to the China Metallurgical Industry Planning and Research Institute (MPI). Chinese iron ore import dependence reached 87.3% in 2016 when China imported 1.024 billion tonnes of iron ore, and will remain high until 2030, the institute says in a report seen by Kallanish.
