Rio, CISA disagree on peak steel, again
The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) now expects the country’s crude steel production to fall 1.07% in 2015 to 814 million tonnes, according to CISA vice chairman Li Xinchuang. This means that 2014 was the peak for Chinese output, something with which Rio Tinto apparently disagrees. The miner believes crude steel production will continue increasing until it reaches around 1 billion tonnes/year by 2030.
