Africa's August crude steel output grows
African countries reporting to the World Steel Association (WSA) – Egypt, South Africa, Libya and Tunisia – recorded an increase in crude steel production in August compared to last year, notes Kallanish.
According to the WSA's latest report, the four countries' crude steel production in August totalled 1.53 million tonnes, up 9.1% on July and 16.1% on-year. January-August production was at 10.57mt, up 8.2% on-year.
