February US steel shipments slide 3.9% on-month: AISI
In the US, February domestic steel mill shipments totalled 7.097 million short tons, a decrease of 3.9% from January’s volume of 7.384m st, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
The monthly shipments reflect a 2.8% decrease from February 2023 when the US shipped 7.303m st. Year-to-date shipments in 2024 are 14.481m st. This is down 2.5% from 2023 year-to-date shipments of 14.859m st for the two months.
