AK Steel suffers blast incident in Butler plant

AK Steel is investigating a blast that took place Wednesday afternoon at its Butler, Pennsylvania, facility, Kallanish learns from local media reports and a company spokeswoman. The blast, which injured two employees, was caused by a reaction in the melt shop’s furnace, according to spokeswoman Lisa Jester.
