ASEAN billet market drifts sideways after plunge
The billet import market in ASEAN remains sluggish, Kallanish notes.
Offers for 5sp 130/150mm blast furnace open-origin square billet from China for May/June shipment were heard last week mostly at around $515-520/tonne cfr Manila, market sources say. This is roughly the same as during the week through 15 March, when the market saw offers of Chinese billet from speculative traders drop sharply by $20/t.
