ASEAN billet prices drop on scrap, Chinese weakness
The ASEAN billet import market is coming down in tandem with a weaker Chinese domestic market, Kallanish notes.
Chinese-origin 3sp grade 150mm billet is currently offered at $580/tonne cfr Manila. An Indonesian blast furnace mill's 130mm/150mm billet is quoted at $590/t cfr for 3sp grade and $600/t cfr for 5sp. Last Friday, most offers for 5sp grade 130mm/150mm billet from China and ASEAN were at $600-610/t cfr Manila.
