The ASEAN wire rod import market continues to falter amid bearish sentiment, Kallanish notes. Buyers continue to delay purchases because they want to wait for the market to stabilise.
Offers for 6.5mm diameter blast furnace SAE 1008 wire rod from within Southeast Asia, including Indonesia and Malaysia, for July shipment are prevailing at $740-750/tonne cfr Manila. This compares with $800/t cfr last week and $810/t cfr the week before.
