Atlas Iron to start on Miralga Creek
Australia’s Atlas iron says it is ready to start work to develop the Miralga Creek iron ore project. Its plans have now received all necessary approvals to proceed, Kallanish notes.
Miralga Creek is an extension of the Abydos mine. Five new pits will be opened and around 8 million tonnes of direct shipping iron ore will be mined over four or five years.
The company has previously stated that the project could produce 9.7mt at 57.12% Fe.
