Brazil's 2023 scrap exports grow despite December decline
Brazil’s ferrous scrap exports dropped month-on-month in December but were considerably higher year-on-year, Kallanish notes. The country ended 2023 with exports strongly improving compared with 2022.
According to the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic), scrap exports reached 64,800 tonnes in December, 15,200t less than in the previous month but 43,200t or 200.5% higher than the same period in 2022.
